In the late 1990s, Arcadia, the McCune Foundation, and the City of Albuquerque formed a private-public partnership to catalyze the redevelopment of downtown Albuquerque.
The first phase of the project was the development in 2001 of the Century Theaters block, a mixed-use development of a 2,200-seat cinema and 45,000 square feet of retail and office space. The second phase of the project was the construction of the Gold Avenue Lofts, a 76,000 square foot live-work condominium building with ground-floor retail. Completed in 2003, the building lines a new parking garage financed by the City.
